Hothouse Indicator Project

What would happen if salt contaminated our freshwater supply?

Exploring climate change and promoting Kaitiaki – care and respect for local groundwater, workshops were held with intermediate age pupils of Enviro Schools (Lower Hutt). This provided opportunity for a learning-in-action study of how water is absorbed through the underground layer to support the natural world.

Running parallel with this environmental theme, artworks were developed in the studio and combined as a final installation located in a glasshouse erected at The Dowse Garden, Civic Square, Lower Hutt.

The Hothouse Indicator project featured in the public programme of Common Ground Festival, a Summer 2017 event curated by Urban Dream Brokerage supported by Hutt City Council and Creative Communities Scheme.
